Here's some pics...
January 28 - Project 365 - Ice Roads Anyone?...
This is the view when we first drive down and onto the ice road...we live just a short distance from here and now that we have a Honda CRV instead of a little VW Jetta we can cross on the river ice again! Those that have been taking care of the ice road this year are doing an amazing job...it is so smooth and clear of drifts...what a nice treat to be able to go this way to PA (16miles) instead of all the way around by Birch Hills to PA (30miles).
January 29 - Project 365 - Face Your Fears...
Just arrived on the north side of the river ice road, if you look in the upper left corner of the photo you can see the old railroad bridge. This bridge isn't in use anymore, but for those that have known it's been there all our lives still like to spot it when crossing the river.
Now this picture was taken a little to late, kinda slow on the uptake...I should have snapped it when I was back at the top of the landing and then it would be easier to see our truck out there in the middle...this is the South Saskatchewan River and it runs just north of our home about 2 miles. We used to live near those trees straight up from where the truck is...Bruce used to operate the Fenton Ferry here and so we lived in one of the gov't houses.
I wanted to post these pics for the shear enjoyment of our s-i-l Kerri in Florida. Last winter when Neal brought her home to meet us all, he brought her across the ice road...she was really not that impressed, with Neal, or with the ice road...she kept sayin' something about facing her fears.........
When we went to Florida before Christmas, Kerri seemed to think that part of that trip for us would be to face our fears....not sure what exactly she meant....but we did go on the Everest Expedition at the Animal Kingdom in Disney World....I definitely faced some fears there that I have no desire of ever facing again thank you very much....!
January 30 - Project 365 - Birds All A-Flutter...
They are so fun to watch...
Lots of little Red Polls this year, and as long as we keep the canola coming they will continue to entertain...love 'em!
Ummm...birdie num-nums....ummmm...
These two would be the Hecklers that sit in the balcony of the Muppet Show and criticize all the goings on below them...where's Kermit and Fozzy Bear???
~~time is precious ~ waste it wisely~~
