Yikes, that is a long time ago, but there has been excuses all along the way to not do it...then when we lost our girls we couldn't handle that kind of drastic change and so we have continued to make excuses and stall on a job that really needed to be done...that being said, we got a good push, a much needed push, to get going from friends, Dave & Sharon, and the change started...with the following pics, for days and days, I have captured the process...here goes...
February 9 - Project 365 - Moving On...
Yup, it's time to move ahead...April of '96 we went thru alot of paint chips, wallpaper ideas, magazines and on and on...finally we decided to sponge the walls...so we painted the ceilings thru-out the front end of the house, (3 bedrooms, main bath on north side of house, all other rooms on south, with main entrance/laundry on the west end), all the same color taupe, plus the top foot and a half in the living room and hallway. We then rolled the dark green, sponged red, blue, taupe and then a bit more with the green. We have lived with this for 13 years and have only really tired of it the last few years...but yes, it was definitely time for change...
...the walls in the dining/kitchen/little biffy/entrance/laundry were all the same color as the ceiling...and I know that sounds like alot, but it looked great and we really liked it...again, time for a change...
...when we built in 1984, the u-shape kitchen was the way to go...over the years we have talked and measured and voted no to an island...but we have made changes that has opened up the dining room/kitchen to each other...the top row of cabinets used to come out to the end of the peninsula...when we painted in '96 they got removed ...so now we are taking out the open end shelf and going to put one of the ones we took down up in it's place...should be interesting...
...here are the painters in the hallway...Dave is supervising Bruce's edging progress...Dave is the master painter and he let Bruce be his apprentice...He wouldn't let Sharon and I help...pout...as if...we went downstairs and sorted and put away several months worth of scrapbooking kits, and much paper also got sorted and put away...yay!
...the master painter looks pleased...with himself or his apprentice...not sure...but definitely looks like he is in a happy Dave place...argghhhh....look at those walls...definitely time for a change...
...at this point the entire ceiling has been painted once...except right there above Bruce and into the laundry room...we realized the next morning that it was definitely going to need another coat...
~~time is precious ~ waste it wisely~~
