February 7 - Project 365 - Cooking for the Rushed...
ummmmmmm...ummmmmm...good...
Ya know when they say, whoever they are, "best thing since sliced bread"?, this is it, I have found the best thing since sliced bread, for real, this is IT! It's a cookbook, meal planner, healthy eating guide, make my life less stressful guide, where was it when our girls were little?, show's you how to cut veggies, tells you what to buy, yup, 12 weeks of grocery lists, absolutely amazing, and we love it...so often Bruce and I have no appetite, so we spend our evening snacking, not very good for us, I know, but that is just the way we do it...
A couple years ago a friend, Sharon, told me about a cook book-meal planner that they were using at their house, and how it simplified supper-time for a busy on the go family. So we thought, well we are no longer on the go, we are pretty much stopped so let's give it a try...and we did...and we love it...and we are on our third winter with it...and on our way thru it the 3rd time! For the winter months especially it has been our God send, and I mean that truthfully. We have a good supper meal and don't snack in the evenings as much and because it is good for us, we very seldom have heart burn which is a big thing...
Alright, here it is, in a nutshell... "Life's on Fire - Cooking for the Rushed", by Albertan, Sandi Richards, http://www.cookingfortherushed.com/ . Check it out if you want to minimize your evening meal stress...this works great. You get 12 weeks of evening meals planned for you, you get the equipment needed breakdown, you get the amount of time it takes till you are eating from the beginning of the prep., you get 12 grocery lists for one week each...and most of all you get fed and you get peace of mind. I honestly can't express to you how this wonderful book helped to get thru a terrible time of the year for us...it truly is a God send...
February 8 - Project 365 - Where to start...and are we ready???
After church on this particular Sunday, we went to PA after church with Dave & Sharon and spent time shopping, looking around, driving Bruce & Dave crazy with shopping and generally just enjoying ourselves. It was decided that they would come to our house for supper and we would discuss the pros & cons & ups & downs & everything else that comes with painting...living room, hallway, dining room, kitchen, little biffy, laundry room/pantry and down the stairway...oh and the ceilings in all these places also...our home hasn't been painted since April of '96...yup, a few years ago...not a priority around here and as of late really didn't care much for change.
That being said, on this Sunday evening we sat in the living room and talked about what all would have to be done, how long it would take, how serious we really were, how we were going to de-clutter (I am the pak-rat, and I want to keep it all - if I didn't want it, I wouldn't have bought it in the first place...).
So that is what is going on in the above picture, we are all talking things over and getting ready to dive right in...which we did start that nite, by taking down pictures and moving ornaments...o and also our walls were sponged (painted one layer, sponged four layers) all those years ago, so some major sanding was involved...thanks babe you did an amazing job...then and now...xo
~~time is precious ~ waste it wisely~~
